SDDAA Holds Investment Seminar for Members

The San Diego Defense Attorneys Association (SDDA) held a personal finance and investment seminar for its members. The seminar is part of the personal growth opportunities provided for by the esteemed criminal lawyers group.

During the investment seminar, highly-regarded personal finance and investment experts discussed possible investment opportunities for lawyers so that they could wisely investment their hard earned income. A Personal Finance coach also shared ways to save more and invest more during these times of increasing cost of living. SDDAA long time member Jacob Fiddleman also came up with a short inspirational talk about the investments he has made back when he was a young criminal attorney, and how these investments have grown over the years.

"We have to educate our members about how and where to invest their hard earned income given that investing is generally not our expertise as lawyers. We all want to have financial independence and a stress-free retirement. Having good investments during our younger years is key to that," says Frank Adams, Executive Director of the SDDAA. The New York Times also shared an article on lawyers and their investments. In the article that they published, they mentioned that lawyers may not have a lot of time to spend on investing and running their specific investments. For this reason, lawyers have to be in touch with someone who can they fully trust. The American Law Institute 

"Lawyers can certainly be as busy as doctors, but they also chart their days in billable hours: giving up time to talk to financial advisers or to think about their financial situation can literally cost top litigators $1,000 an hour. 'They want a strategy that they sign off on but that they're not going to have to micromanage,' said Ross Gerber, chief executive of Gerber Kawasaki Wealth and Investment Management, who said a third of his clients were litigators in the Los Angeles area."
